Is this even possible?? When I enter phone number with spaces, Outlook
2007 inserts brackets automatically. This is just another one of those immensely irritating features of MS products that appears to have no 'off switch'. (And don't get me started on the question as to 'why can't we have a standard formatting for phone numbers??' -some countries group the numbers in pairs, some in threes, some with brackets, some without... ) |

outlook formats the number based on your windows settings - control panel, modem and phone options, dialing location. Which country do I have to be in to stop Outlook inserting parentheses in international numbers (ones starting with '+')? I like my international numbers in the correct (ITU E.123) format, so they should never have parentheses. |

Which country do I have to be in to stop Outlook inserting parentheses in international numbers (ones starting with '+')? I like my international numbers in the correct (ITU E.123) format, so they should never have parentheses. What is this format? In Australia we have ten digit phone numbers. eg: 03-9999-9999 where 03 is the area code for the state of Victoria, the first four digits generally denote a small geographical region or telephone exchange, and then the line itself. The format for most can be like this: (03) 9999-9999. Then we have mobile phone (cellular phone) number format as such: 0400-111-111 The first 4 digits generally is assigned to specific carriers. or used to be til number portability between carriers was allowed. But Outlook formats the mobile numbers like this: (04) 0011-1111. I see it most in my PDA which sync's with Outlook (Windows Mobile 6). I wish that I could get both Outlook and the PDA to display the numbers "correctly". |
