Missing saved email folders Inbox and sent box

I was informed that Outlook would not open and having failed to find
Scanpst.exe on my computer I used the help and repair site within the help
section. My outlook was restored as new and I have lost saved inbox and sent
emails. How can I restate these important files. I have a Dell XPS 420 and
Vista 32

Scanpst.exe is a hidden file, it depends on version of OL as to its default
location
Search to include hidden for *.pst, you will probably find files named
outlook.pst, outlook1.pst and Archive.pst
Note the path
Within OL check properties of personal folders to see the name of the data
file.
Then within OL, FileOpenData File.....browse to & open the other
outlook*pst
Either leave it open or copy the data to the new data file
