Is this a new installation?

it only shows them after you've sent messages to those people. Unless the
profile is corrupt.

I use Office 2007 and the email address suggestion does not work after
closing Outlook. It does work as long as it stays open. Can somebody explain
how to fix in in novice terms

As Diane stated, losing connection to the nickname cache indicates that your
profile is corrupt - create a new one under Control Panel-Mail
Icon-Profiles-New. Do not copy your old one.
