I just set up Microsoft Outlook on my computer and I imported email adresses
from my webmail account into Outlook 2002. When I go to type a new email message and I click on the "To" button to select recipients, my list of NAMES shows up in the left box (no addresses/just names). When I select a person's name to add to the "To" field, a semicolon, or a period shows up (no names or email addresses). I can't see who I've selected b/c all that shows up in the "to " field is a period or a semi-colon. It will actually send an email to the recipient that I selected but I cannot verify who I've sent to b/c all that shows up is a semi-colon or period. All of the contacts info is correct in my Contacts folder in Outlook 2002 but I can't get the "to" field to populate correctly for creating a new email. Please HELP! Thank You. |

You are AWESOME........I have seriously been trying to fix that ALL day long.
Thank you, Thank You, Thank You! The Display name actually had the display name with the email address attached to it (don't know why) so i just took out the email address and now it works. You should get a raise! Goodnight. "Diane Poremsky {MVP}" wrote: the email display name or file as field is blank - open a contact to see which it is. If you have a lot,, I'd probably export the list to excel format and fill in the missing field before importing. If its just a few, I'd open each one to fix. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com.
