I use Outlook 2003. I have a paid ISP.
I never had a problem till I installed Norton Internet Security; afterwhich I could download but not send. Turning off NIS personal firewall helped for a bit, but not for long. Somehow it got fixed. (???) Recently my hard drive crashed and I put a new one in. Since then I can download email, but cannot send it. It stays in the Outbox. I have tried Help, I have made sure my settings are the same as all the other computers in the network. I know others have had this problem, but I have not seen a solution that works. Thanks, pgregg |

Turn off AV scanning of incoming and outgoing mail. This won't affect your
security at all. Also, if you're running Norton Firewall are you also running the Windows Firewall? -- Kathleen Orland Blessed are the cracked, for it is they who let in the light Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.howto-outlook.com/ "pgregg" wrote: I use Outlook 2003. Thanks, pgregg I had exactly the same problem with Outlook from Office XP, Turn on Internet security and Outlook would fail the settings test, turn it off and e-mail worked perfectly. I spent 1 hour on the phone to Symmantec no help support desk (which I had to pay for) still did not resolve the problem. So I ended up uninstalling Norton and installing a product that worked. Tim |
