Outlook 2007: No copy and paste with CTRL+INS

Hi!

As a left handed user I always use CTRL+INS and SHIFT+INS for copy and
paste.

MS seems to have deactivated this shortcut in Outlook 2007 (which is
very annoying if you are left handed).

Is there a way to enable this shortcut again?

Regards,
Achim

What does "INS" mean? The shortcuts are CTRL+C (copy) and CTRL+V
(paste). Or I do not understand?

Sorry, INS = INSERT

For left handed users it can be cumbersome to use CTRL+C and CTRL+V as
you need to use the left hand which usually is the "mouse-hand"

I'm a lefty but I can't get into mousing with the left hand plus keyboarding
is much faster - it's a good thing as my laptop only has ctrl on the left
side. :) You can right click (I guess it would be left click on a lefty
mouse) and choose copy and paste.

Anyway... do you have outlook in the office suite or standalone? Those
shortcuts work here but some features require the office suite - if you have
only outlook that could be why it doesn't work.

You can go to the office icon of an opened message and click on Editor
options at the bottom - Advanced - about halfway down the list of options is
use insert for paste. To the best of my knowledge, this allows you to use
just ins for paste, not shift+ins - it doesn't affect the use of ctrl+ins or
shift+ins.

No, I'm using the complete office suite.

I just noticed, it only works if the message is open, it does not work
to copy something from the preview :-( Damned!

so ctrl+c should be fast. :) (unless you are a one handed typist, with the
other always on the mouse)

I noticed that too - I don't normally use the insert commands so I wasn't
sure if it was me or the command. Preview is one area I almost always use
the mouse to select and r-click copy.

Even copying from the preview window with CTRL+INSERT?

I have with service pack 1 and Ctrl+Insert does not work for me in the
reading pane either. It is even documented not to work in the help.

Copy. CTRL+C or CTRL+INSERT

Note CTRL+INSERT is not available in the Reading Pane.

This is ridiculous. Why disable a shortcut key that has worked for nearly 20
years in the context where you are most likely to use it to grab a few words
out of an email?
