Can't configure Outlook

Is there any way to get Outlook 2003 to start up not expecting to find a
particular pst file? The copy of Outlook on my wife's PC is expecting to
find its pst file on the network. But we have moved house and the setup is
different here. My wife's pst file is now on her own computer. But Outlook,
not finding the file on the network where it expects it, simply says her
file is no longer available and quits. What I need is to get into Outlook
and configure it for the changed situation, but that is what Outlook will
not let me do. Starting in safe mode doesn't help either. Has anyone any
suggestions?

Use the Mail Applet in the Control Panel to create a new data file, set it
as default, remove the old data file

Though you might be better off to create a new profile, add a data file &
configure the accounts, set the profile as default

In addition to what DL says - MS does NOT recommend OR support pst files
located on a networked drive.
That's because Outlook requires constant read-write access and any tiny blip
in the network and you will have corrupted data. If this hasn't happened to
date, then you have been VERY lucky.
Is there any particular reason that you need to put a pst file on a
networked drive?
