links don't work in outlook 2007

Internet links in emails in outlook 2007 on my sister's laptop no longer
work. She's using Outlook 2007 in a Toshiba running Vista Home Premium.
Googling the problem I found references to Chrome, and preferred settings.
I uninstalled chrome, and made sure the preferred settings were right. I
then uninstalled outlook 2007, rebooted, and installed it again. It still
won't launch links in emails. I set the security settings in IE8 as low as
they could go, and that didn't help either.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks

links don't work in outlook 2007

Actually More and More in my IT world I am running into people that have
installed Google Chrome and then uninstalled it. If they did not select IE
for their default browser when they did the install then then their registry
is still messed up with Chrome.

Google has that answer on their site.

Easiest thing to do is re-install Chrome and select IE has the default
browser. Once that has been done you can test your links in Outlook and they
will be working. After your test you can now remove Chrome again.

Hope this helps.
