Default PATCH PACKAGE CANNOT BE OPENED

I have a version of Microsoft Office on my PC.

If I try to open any program in it, I get the message, "The patch package
could not be opened. Verifty that the pacakage exists and that you can
access it, or contact the application vendor..."

and

that MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version.

Though, I can't open it to get the product id. ??

Help!?
