I have just had to format my hard disk and rebuild my laptop after spyware
problems. The machine is 100% up to date with XP Home Edition and Office 2003 updates. I saved all the files I found in the Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder before formatting my hard disk and have since returned them to the same location. Now want to open them. However, when I try to open them in Outlook (File, Open,Oultook Data File), the old files do not even appear in the window to be selected. Only the newly created files appear, however I know the other files are there. Can anyone help with this please? Thanks in anticipation. |

Dear Mark,
have a look on this site where Outlook store the PST files and how to search for PST files: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm -- Oliver Vukovics Outlook Network without Exchange: Public ShareFolder Awarded by ZDNet UK and ZDNet DE with the "Editors Choice". http://www.publicshareware.com "MarkC" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... Hi Oliver,
Thanks for the links. They explain the process I was following, but for some reason I have a problem when trying to reconnect the data file. When Outlook displays the folder, the files I want to connect are not displayed (even if I view all file types, not just .pst), but I am 100% certain that they are there because I can navigate to them from the start menu. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks, Mark "Oliver Vukovics" wrote: Dear Mark, have a look on this site where Outlook store the PST files and how to search for PST files: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm -- Oliver Vukovics Outlook Network without Exchange: Public ShareFolder Awarded by ZDNet UK and ZDNet DE with the "Editors Choice". http://www.publicshareware.com "MarkC" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... However, that's not the folder where PSTs are kept by default. If you did not explicitly keep your PSTs (usually in %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook), then you no longer have them.
