Hey guess what? I have exactly the same problem. I just uninstalled Office 2007 Beta and reinstalled Office 2003 and the same message appears when I try to open Outlook. This is a bit of a pain as I've become quite dependant on outlook but am now looking to Open Office instead. Sick of problems!!
Anyone shed any light on the matter?

I have now discovered the solution. It is NOT the MAPI32.dll as described by MS, but the MSMAPI32.dll
If you locate this and rename it .old and then start Outlook it will work fine. Thanks for nothing MS. Error messages are supposed to be helpful not misleading!
