Default Outlook locks up often

I have several IMAP mailboxes set-up in Outlook 2003.

When pressing F9 (set up to sync 3 of the mailboxes), it works about 60% of
the time. The rest of the time, it locks up. When this happens, I sometimes
have to use the Task Manager to get Outlook to end.

Any ideas? I know the mail server is working properly.

Hi,

When working with multiple accounts in Outlook, it might bring performance
related issues to it.
Try creating profile with an account or two and check if Outlook is able to
send/receive emails fine without freezing.
Also, you could try disabling the email scanning feature in the anti-virus
program and check if it works fine..

Thanks,

Mittu

That's what I did actually. Although I have 9 IMAP inboxes, I only have 3
that are setup to replicate every 5 minutes and with F9.

The odd thing is that when this lockup occurs, there is nothing happening at
my mail server. The mail server also should have plenty of power, since
there is little load on it.

Again, this works fine about 60% (more like 75% lately) of the time.

I thought of your AV suggestion, but this lockup occurs even when there is
no mail to retrieve.
