Automate Outlook username and server
Is there any way of setting Outlook to use the same serve name and making it
pick up the username automatically (eg %USERNAME%). This way when I image a new PC I won't have to setup Outlook for every user? Thanks for your help, Sam. |

Microsoft uses text files with a .prf extension and a highly structured format to provide information to OUtlook that enables Outlook to create or modify a mail profile. You can create such .prf files with the Custom Installation Wizard or Custom Maintenance Wizard tools in the Office Resource Kit. For more details, including a variety of .prf deployment methods, read the excellent white paper "Configuring Outlook Profiles by Using a PRF File" at http://office.microsoft.com/search/r...60 I&respos=3

Hi I am trying to automatic outlook 2007 to accept customised usernames during installation so that this username can access to other email accounts from the internet. for example Matthew Omalley his login name will be matto but I want to customize his username to be omalley.matthew for outlook to access emails from yahoo. I can't use %username% for the installation configuration. Is there anyway to customize the firsname.lastname? I have his full name in outlook server. Thanks iceman |
