Default Outlook from Outlook express

I've tried to export my Express folders(mails) to Outlook and am getting
limited success. Larger folders are failing to import fully. In one case a
folder with 1909 mails only transfers 32. After repeated attempts, this won't
transfer anything now.
Inbox and sent Items are the main culprits

Ok, if you need help troubleshooting the issue specify your configuration
and just ask.

Hi, I'm transferring from Outlook express 6 (SP2) to Outlook 2003 (Trial) in
Microsoft Office small business Edition 2003

Probel as below - Can't get all the emails to export from Express into
Outlook. The transfer halts (Appears to complete, now errors) after partially
transferring mails from a folder then moves on to the next folder.

After repeat try's now it won't transfer anything anymore.

Can you advise how to get all emails acrosss to Outlook?

Tks,

Are you exporting to an Exchange mailbox or a pst-file in Outlook?
Does the export always halt on the same messages? You might want to check
the integrity of the dbx-files of OE first. If there is already a problem
with that to begin with Outlook can't sure it.

I'm exporting to a PST it appears that it was stopping consistently at the
same message all right. Now, it appears that nothing is happening when I try
and transfer. How do I check the integrity of the dbx?

"How do I check the integrity of the dbx?"

I had the same problem when importing from OE6 into Outlook 2003, i.e.
not all messages had been imported from some OE folders (each OE
folder is a dbx file). Those dbx files were somehow damaged (it
happens when OE shuts down improperly because of an error in the
program or irregular shutdown or restart of the Windows, especially if
you have a lot of messages in a folder).

I checked the damaged OE folders in the following way:
(1) I compacted all OE folders: File - Folder - Compact All Folders.
(For the Inbox, Outbox and Sent Items folders OE may report that the
folder cannot be compacted as it is in use. Make sure that OE is not
receiving or sending mail.)
(2) I walked through all messages in damaged folders while the
preview pane was opened. For each incorrect message in a folder the
following error was shown in the preview pane:
"Message has not been downloaded
Outlook Express has not yet downloaded this message"
I deleted such messages.
(3) I compacted all OE folders again.

After that the import from OE6 into Outlook 2003 was successful.
