Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working
Hello Martin,
Thank you for using newsgroup! From your post, I suggest we test the following steps below: Step 1: Check Junk Email Setting ------------------------ 1. Open Outlook, click Tool - Options. 2. Click Junk Email and check if it is enabled. Test the issue again. If the issue persists, please go on to Step 2: Step 2: Create a new Outlook profile ---------------------------------------------------- If suggestions above don't resolve the issue, I suspect the current profile of Outlook has been corrupted. Please perform the following steps to create a new profile: Note: We need to backup the Junk Email box before performing the following steps, if you want to remain the current email in the Junk Mail box. 1. Close Outlook. 2. Click Start menu- Control Panel. If Control Panel is not in Classic View, click Switch to Classic View on the upper left of the window. And then double-click the Mail icon. 3. Click Show Profiles and then click Add. In the New Profile dialog box, type a descriptive name for the new profile in the Profile Name box, and then click OK. 4. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click "Add a new e-mail account", and then click Next. 5. Select the appropriate server type for your e-mail account, and then click Next. 6. Fill in the appropriate information as prompted, and then click Next and Finish as needed. 7. Click the "Prompt for a profile to be used" option and click OK. This way, you will be prompted for a profile when starting Outlook. 8. Restart Outlook and select the new profile. If the problem does not exist in the new profile, you can refer to the import and export section in following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to import the data into new profile. For detailed information, you can refer to the following article: 287070.KB.EN-US OL2002: How to Back Up, Restore, or Move Outlook Data http://support.microsoft.com/default...B;EN-US;287070 Note: This article also applies to Outlook 2003. Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working
Hello:
I'm experiencing the same problem. I have Outlook 2003 and the Junk mail filter was working just fine. Then I installed Office 2007 beta 1 (I chose to keep all previous office versions). I tried Office 2007 for 30 mins and then I uninstalled it. After that the Junk mail filter stoppped working and all the spam goes to my inbox. I followed your suggestion about downloading Outlook Spy, but there's no "junk mail rule" under the "Associated contents" tab. Any other suggestions please? Thank you. Yup, same here. Installed Expression on a clean fully patched system, and
Junk Mail 2003 no longer works. Tried the suggestion at http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/fix_junk.htm but the Junk Mail rule is not even listed, so appears to have been deleted. Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working
Well, the solution I found was very simple. I just went to Add/Remove
Programs. Looked for Microsoft Office and clicked on "Change", then I chose "Reinstall or Repair". I did a repair and after that everything went back to normal!! Hope it works for you! My Outlook 2003 Junk Email filter stopped working yesterday after I installed Expression Web Designer Beta, which I believe is part of, or will use Office 2007 technologies. Uninstalling WebDeigner Beta has not resolved the problem. Please post if you find a fix. Thanks. wrote: Hello: I'm experiencing the same problem. Thank you. Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working
I have been having the same trouble with the junk email filter no longer
filtering too. I followed this suggestion of yours and it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks, George "CJSnet" wrote: As mentioned, I did test the latest suggestion. However have now discovered that if you uninstall the last Junk Mail update (Add/Remove Programs tick 'Show Updates), close Outlook, then run Office Update again to install the Junk Mail update, functionality returns. Hope this helps others. -- Thanks, CJSnet Recommended: * http://search.superhighstreet.com - Finds anything or they pay! * http://www.superhighstreet.com & http://www.oxfordstreet.com - Beat the crowds with Virtual Streetscapes [remove 'teeth' to e-mail me] "Sally Qiu [MSFT]" wrote in message ... Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working
Hi,
I have the same problem. I've uninstalled Office 2007 and the Junk Mail does not function in Office 2003 any more. I've tried: * Set the filtering to none and back to high. * Uninstalling the Junk Mail Filter and install it back. * Repair of the Office 2003 installation * The outlook spy does not show the junk mail rules in the Inbox folder list. I have these the - Outlook.Message.Manager (Outlook) KEY: A67... - outlook.Rules.Organizer - IPC.MS.Outlook.AngingProperties - Outlook.Message.Manager (Outlook) KEY: E6E... - IPM.Microsoft.MigrationStatus - Messages Thanks, Martin " wrote: Well, the solution I found was very simple.
