"Detect and Repair" error message

When I run Office 2003 "Detect and Repair", I am prompted to provide the
source of the file "PRO11.MSI."

I point to the Office 2003 CD in the CD drive, but Outlook tells me it
cannot find the file.

What is the problem? I will appreciate advice.

Can you find that file on the CD? I don't know if it will help, but if you
could find that file and then point right to that file it might help.

That's usually a sign that the Office CD you have contains a different
version of Office (or at least Outlook) than is currently installed. You'll
get a similar message if, for example, you have Office 2003 Basic installed
and the CD contains Office 2003 Professional.

Download the Windows Clean Install Utility. If Micorosoft Office came
pre-installed in a Dell pc, it was installed from a different CD version and
so that will be a problem. After you open the utility, click on the Office
program and remove it. This will remove it from the registry. Then install
from the CD. Hope it helps.
