Default Roaming profiles leaving PRF*****.tmp files

We have a number of users in different sites that are leaving these
PRF****.tmp files all over the place. I've checked KB328607 but in the
application log there are no events pertaining to this as this KB states. We
could do a log off script to delete the files but I want to know why these
files are not being removed on their own.

Anyone come across this?
Thanks
