I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP recently. Previously
(Nov. 2006) I backup up the Documents and Settings folder to a Windows backup file (.bkf). I have restored my Outlook 2000 mail and settings from that backup, but the Rules are obviously not stored the .pst file. Where does Outlook normally keep them? In the registry? Or some other file that I can restore from backup? -- N Selinger |

I DID TRY GOOGLE. I did not find an answer (after a half an hour of trying
different search wordings/combinations/+& etc.). I also searched the Microsoft Knowledge base and could not find anything. That's why I am trying this discussion group. But, you seem to have less expertise than me - your answer refers to Outlook EXPRESS, not Outlook 2000. -- N Selinger "Pat" wrote: Try here.... Thanks! I could kick myself - I read the KB article about EXPORTING Outlook
rules to a .rwz file, but it never occurred to me that the same type of file might be used to store the currently active rules. -- N Selinger "Brian Tillman" wrote: N Selinger wrote: I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP recently. I apologise for YES giving you a possible wrong link but I thought that the outlook
express an Outlook 2000 were similar when it comes to backing up anyway i have found a link that explains the Rules Wizard rules (Outlook 2000 and earlier versions) .rwz files for Outlook 2000. So here it is.... http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...f-5a6322f4fd01 http://outlook-2000.qarchive.org/software.html ; ) Patrick N Selinger wrote: Thanks!
