File size
On our network this person has a pst file that is 1.2gb, but in outlook when
i look at the file size it is 46 mb. He did just delete a bunch of things but why in outlook it shows its 46mb or so and when you actually browse out to where the file is at it is 1.2 gb |

Deleting items does NOT reduce the size of a .PST file, compacting it does.
Try compacting the file and see if it changes the file size. Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!" Yes this worked thanks. So when people delete a lot of things out of a pst
you have to compact it for the actual file to change to the correct size? "Hal Hostetler [MVP P/I]" wrote: Deleting items does NOT reduce the size of a .PST file, compacting it does.
