I have had the same problem. I have removed office 2007, changed my default
email client to outlook (instead of windows messenger) and I still get the
MAP132.dll error message. HELP!!!

This could very well be the problem. It's problematic installing a version
of Outlook, especially an earlier version, over the top of a trial version.

Rename MAPI32.DLL to something else, like MAPI32.OLD and then start Outlook.
It should restore the missing DLL.

Did you maybe have a trial version of Office installed that you failed to
uninstall?

PS you stated OfficeXp 2003, there is either OfficeXp or Office 2003 not a
combination.

If its OfficeXp this is not fully compatible with Vista, usually Outlook
does not remember passwords, though I believe a workaround has been posted

I did not have any version of Office installed. Works came on the Dell
computer. Office XP is what I tried to install. It seemed to install okay -
but Outlook gave the problem - it gave message that it required IE5 and of
course IE7 is installed with Vista.

OfficeXp is not fully compatible with Vista, in particular their are
problems with Outlook
