I would like to configure Outlook 2003 to send messages immediately, but also
wish to disable the auto send/receive feature. At this time, the messages "stall" in my outbox until such time that I manually execute the send/receive button. Can this be done, and if so, where (I've looked high and low in the tools | options menu but cannot locate a setting). Thanks for your help! |

Is anybody out there? I posted this question almost a week ago... are all
the MVP's on vacation? "Joseph" wrote: I would like to configure Outlook 2003 to send messages immediately, but also wish to disable the auto send/receive feature. Have you checked the "Send immediately when connected" option on ToolsOptionsMail Setup? -- Brian Tillman |

Thanks, Brian... looks like that did the trick. Simple enough, but it would
have been more intuitive if Microsoft labeled the option differently. Thanks again. Yes. Something like, "Messages sent immediately upon pressing Send" might be
more appropriate. The current statement, "Send messages immediately when connected" gives me the impression that the messages are only sent when the mail client is initially opened. Perhaps I'm splitting hairs, but nonetheless, the current statement seems ambiguous. Thanks for your help. "Brian Tillman" wrote: Joseph wrote: Thanks, Brian... looks like that did the trick.
