I've had to reinstall MSOffice onto my PC. When I open outlook I always get
an error message - The add-in "C:\PROGRA 1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgxch32.dll" could
not be installed or loaded. Where do I get this add-in and what does it do?
Could this be the cause of problems configuring my account?

Reinstall Grisoft's antivirus scanner.

Thanks Diane
I had norton on my machine but the guy who was investigating a problem with
the machine hanging took this off and installed AVG. I have now removed this
and reinstalled Norton ( I know norton has its shortcomings but I am used to
it!) - any idea how I stop outlook looking for the AVG add-in?

With Outlook closed, delete the (hidden) file %UserProfile%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat

I'm not if you've already found the solution or not, but there is a published
workaround for this that I found with a Google search for the same issue:

WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, configure Outlook to prevent it from trying to
load the add-in:

1. Start Outlook. If you receive an error message, follow the instructions
on the screen to clear it.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
4. Click Add-in Manager.
5. Click to clear the check box of the add-in that is causing the error, and
then click OK.
6. Click OK two times.
7. Quit Outlook.

This is covered in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article #329924.

URL: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;329924

So you should be able to just un-check the AVG add-in and get rid of the
problem.

I hope this does the trick.
