Using Outlook 2003
We recently installed a new server and pushed out the Outlook 2003 to all workstations. The majority of the workstations are receiving a "The add-in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shard\vpmsece.dll" could not be installed or loaded." error messages when opening Outlook. I have tried the solutions in the "Files\Symantec_Client_Security\Symantec AntiVirus\vpmsece.dll" could not be installed or loaded..." document; however, when I search for the extend.dat file in all profiles on these workstations nothing is found. Is my problem the fact that Outlook is not creating an extend.dat file or does anyone have another solution? If the problem is that an extend.dat is not automatically being created, how do I get it to create one? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Thanks Brian, for some reason the extend.dat file was not being created in
the correct profile. After removing all unnecessary profiles and manually checking each remaining profile I was able to fine the culpit. After deleting that extend.dat and then re-opening Outlook it was able to create the file where it was supposed to be. Thanks again for your help.
