Default Password problem

I removed office 2003 with Outlook from my XP home system and replaced it
with office 2007. Now I have the dread password not being retained problem.
I have attempted to uninstall Office 07 but the bad info stays on the system.
I would like to pull the whole works and see if a clean reinstall would do
the trick But I am not sure if this is the best appraoch or not and how to
proceed otherwise. I can't believe that Microsoft is letting this go on. If
I could find a reasonable email alternative I would just have to try it.
Help.

Uninstalling Office/OL rarely cures a problem
Try a new mail Profile - do not copy profile, if asked
