How do I recover e-mails from dbx files on 'old' hard drive?

My PSU and motherboard got fried and I wanted to save the data off the hard
drive if possible. I installed it in a new system, slaved to a new hard
drive and reinstalled XP on the new drive because I didn't want to risk
overwriting the data on the old one.
Everything on the old drive seems fine except that I can't get at my e-mails.
All the data seems to be where I expected it in .dbx files but I can't find
a way of importing them into Outlook.
I'm running Windows XP SP2 with all the latest upgrades and Outlook 2003

You need to make these files avialble to outlook express, before you then
export them from express to outlook
That assumes you were using outlook express origonally
