Default RPC over HTTPS not holding its settings

I just setup RPC in Outlook 2007 and everything works fine until I reboot my
machine and the settings disappear. I've reinstalled Office just to make sure
there were no registry issues and have searched the web to no avail.

Can anyone assist me? Has anyone had this issue before? I don't want to roll
this out to our employees until I resolve this. Thank you!

Default RPC over HTTPS not holding its settings

Reinstalling won't help with configuration issues.
What kind of troubleshooting did you do already?
How has this client been installed and configured? Manually or via
deployment and policies?
Any system restrictions in place?
Where is the profile stored? Roaming or local?
Do other settings stick when rebooting?
Does it work when you start with a clean mail profile?
Does it work when you logon as another user?

Default RPC over HTTPS not holding its settings

Excellent questions!!

Question 1
Other than a reinstall and searching the web nothing. I've never seen this
issue and have set this up many times before but in 2003 not 07.

Question 2
Manually. It is my laptop and a fresh build.

Question 3
None that I know of. I am a local admin and domain admin

Question 4
Local profile with no redirection

Question 5
Yes. From what I can tell I'm having no other issues with settings or configs.

Question 6
Since this was a clean, brand new machine and I'm the only user, I would say
yes, it works great until I reboot.

I haven't tried logging on as another user

I'd test with a new mail profile and a new (test) user.
Additionally, if you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook,
disable this integration and try again.

Default RPC over HTTPS not holding its settings

I'm not sure if I found the culprit and if I did, I just fixed the issue.
However I'll have more time later to play around.

We are using ScriptLogic (SL) which I've never used before and it was the
only thing I could think of that would be causing this problem. I tried it
with a new user and on a different laptop using Outlook 2003, all with the
same results.
There is a place in SL that allows me to set my RPC settings as if I were
doing in outlook itself. Since making the changes in SL, I've been able to
reboot and not lose my settings. I did notice that on the first reboot i
would be prompted for my credentials as normal but once I restarted again, I
would lose the settings as if a group policy or script if overriding my
settings.
We're not using any out of the ordinary group policies so this is only place
that made sense. Tomorrow I will remove myself from the SL service and see if
I have the same issues.
I'll report back in case someone has this issue in the future.

Roady,

It was ScriptLogic! I have corrected the issue.
Now if I could only get ActiveSync to work with my exchange server but that
is for another newsgroup.
Thanks!

Good to hear and you're welcome! :-)

Make sure you are using the latest version of ActiveSync (4.5 I believe) or
if you are on Windows Vista use Windows Mobile Device Center.

Good luck!

Default RPC over HTTPS not holding its settings

AS 4.5 and Windows Mobile 6 Pro
One straight week of reading forums, KBs etc to no avail. Apparently there
are 1000'a of people having issues with 4.5 and WMP 6.
The last time I had to set this up was with AS 4.2 and WM5 and via SSL back
in 2005 and it worked like a charm.
Go figure!
