Default Synchronization problems

I did a new installation of Office 2007 Ultimate on a Vista 32 system, and
I'm running into a couple of problems:

1. When I do send/receive All, or when I try to exit, it stops at about 95%,
and it's never done (the Outlook Send/Receive Progress dialog box remains
open until I hit Cancel All). It seems as if everything has synchronized
properly.

2. I have the send/receive group set to synchronize every five minutes. It
does not seem to be doing it all the time, and if I'm away from the PC for a
while, at times I Have to do a manual send/receive.

The Exchange server on the other end is an SBS 2003 system. I have Outlook
2007 on my laptop (running XP), and I am not having any of these issues.

You're leaving out configuration details like how you connect to the
Exchange server. Direct, VPN, RPC over HTTP?
Scheduled send/receive don't apply to Exchange accounts.
If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook, disable this
integration and try again.

I connect using RPC over HTTP.

I do have McAfee secrutity center (part of the Comcast broadband bundle),
and it is set to do the following:

Scans inbound e-mail messages
Scans outbound e-mail messages
Enable WormStopper

These are the same settings I have on my laptop.

Disable its integration with Outlook completely and see if it works now.

No, still gets stuck at the same place. My laptop has also been working fine
with email integration with the virus protection software.
