You never import Outlook data.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored. Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "chuck dawley" chuck wrote in message ... hi folks...does anyone know how to import my old stored email from my previous installation of outlook? i'm using xp home and office 2003. my hard drive crashed and i had to reinstall the OS nad the outlook/office program - it's picking up the new email but i can't seem to import the old ones...they were saved. thanks (cd) |

Copy from cd to Documents folder, in explorer examine properties of this pst
file and remove the read only flag. Then in Outlook, FileOpenData File .........browse to this pst "chuck dawley" chuck wrote in message ... hi folks...does anyone know how to import my old stored email from my previous installation of outlook? i'm using xp home and office 2003. my hard drive crashed and i had to reinstall the OS nad the outlook/office program - it's picking up the new email but i can't seem to import the old ones...they were saved. thanks (cd) |
