Default The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable

Hi, I am having the same problem but I am a new user and Outlook will not
open at all.

I tried to my email account up in the Control Panel, Mail as you wrote. I
entered myemail and my ISP (Roadrunner.com) and it said it was all set up.

Outlook still will not open, and get the same two error messages as before.

Please help! Thanks!

I just installed Outlook 2003. Upon first opening the tool, the
configuration manager started.

I entered incorrect information about my Exchange Server. I won't have
the
correct information for a few more days. Until then, I can't even open the
tool or work offline. I get the message:
The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook
must
be online or connected to complete this action.
When I click OK in the error message box, a new dialog box opens asking me
for the url of the Exchange Server and my mailbox (with a check names
button).

When I cancel out of this, I get another error message:
Unable to open your default email folders. The file C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost is not an offline folder file.
When I click OK, the tool closes.

How can I back out of this and start over? How can I simply open Outlook
so
I can at least access the help and other features for now.

Default The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable

HI - sorry!

1. "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be
online or conneted to complete this action."

this is when I click the link to outlook 2007 and the window opens, circle
moving and then this message.

On clicking OK, i get a second message -

2. " Cannot open your email folders. the file C:\Users\Debbie
Soll\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost is not an offline folder
file."

When I click OK on this, the whole program shuts down. I have not used it
before, ever even though I use most of Office 2007 exclusively. I need to
learn Outlook.

Thank you!!

I believe RoadRunner doesn't have an Exchange account type but uses the POP3
account type.
The server details depend on the state and city that you are in. You can
find out your settings at;
http://help.rr.com

In the FAQ top 10 you most likely will find a link for the server details.
If not, you can contact RoadRunner directly to ask your settings.

Once you've found your settings, it's best to start with a clean mail
profile as per;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm
