HI..

We have a file server with about 20 users. Each user has roaming profiles
saved on the server. Desktop or notebooks are all Xp with MSOffice 2003Pro.
all users are using outlook and PoP'n mail while the .pst file is on the
server (or local notebook)

My Q??
I need to control the signatures; i.e. company name and contacts as well as
the mail senders first and last name to appear - or siganture template that
can be centrally managed for all users ...
Is it at all possible with Outlook2003 ?? ( no mail server)

Hi...

Thank you.. I know, .pst is not the first prize over a LAN, but it does
the trick, as users can work and access mail from any workstation, without
having to use a mailserver.

So again , can any one help we with centralized managed signatures for
outlook users - NO exchange server ??

Whether this is of any help I dont know, under your config I think you are
going to need to create the sigs, then add them to each user, perhaps
removing any existing sigs. I dont believe you are going to be able to
prevent users creating there own

the signature that you used when you created it. For example, if you create
a signature named MySig, the following files are created in the Signatures
folder:
a.. MySig.htm: This file stores the HTML Auto signature.
b.. MySig.rtf: This file stores the Microsoft Outlook Rich Text Format
(RTF) Auto signature.
c.. MySig.txt: This file stores the plain text format Auto signature.
The location of the signature files depends on the version of Windows that
you are running. Use this list to find the appropriate location:
a.. Windows Vista: Drive\users\Username\appdata, where Drive represents
the drive that Outlook was installed to and Username represents the user
name that Outlook was installed under.
b.. Windows XP or Windows 2000: Drive\Documents and
Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook, where
Drive represents the drive that Outlook was installed to and Username
represents the user name that Outlook was installed under.

thank for the feedback DL,

We do have the individual signatures in place,
I would like to every now and again, have the signatures go out with a
little blurp -
a marketing slogan or the likes , without having to redo each individual
siganture..

It is impossible to have any type of email infrastructure without having a
server. That server may belong to an ISP or external mail provider, but it
certainly exists. If you have an external provider, perhaps you can make
arrangements to have the server append the signature to outgoing messages.
