I've done everthing I should; i.e. on Tools, Options, Mail Setup tab, Send
immediately when connected is checked. Then under Send/Receive button, I have one group with all my email accounts included and the box is checked which says Schedule an automatic send/receive every 5 minutes. But when I start Outlook, automatic send/receive function does not work, nor does the 5 minute send/receive work. I have to click on the Send/Receive button on the toolbar in order send or receive email. It used to work and then I changed it to unchecked both places. Later I came back and checked them again, but it has never worked since rechecking them. I tried using Help to find the answer, but there is no answer for this specific problem. I have used Outlook for many years and am very familiar with the Tools Options menus. Why is it doing this? What am I doing wrong or leaving out? |

Try Outlook Detect/Repair, or Office Diagnostics if using 2007

Lynn,
The setting to Send/Receive at 5 minutes may cause your mail servers a problem, you should increase that setting to at least 10 minutes. -- Add MS to your News Reader: news://msnews.microsoft.com Rich/rerat (RRR News) message rule Previous Text Snipped to Save Bandwidth When Appropriate "Lynn" wrote in message ... Hit Control/Alt/Delete to bring up the Windows Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab and sort by Image Name by clicking that header. Scroll down to see if you are running more than one session of Outlook. If so hit the End Process button for each session more than the single session you should be running. |
