Default Task List does not display columns below minimum pane width

Unless I make the To-Do Bar wide enough to display about three months in the
Date Navigator, the Task List on my To-Do Bar only displays the Task Subject
column and any icon columns, but no text fields such as Due Date despite
sufficient width of the overall display pane. In addition, the columns are
displayed out of order. Further, when I attempt to format the columns to a
different width, Outlook crashes.

When the To-Do Bar is sufficiently wide to accommodate three months in the
Date Navigator on top, the Task List formatting behaves entirely normal.

I can replicate this issue even using a new Outlook Profile and PST, and
have also tried resetting my views using /cleanviews.

Any ideas of what is wrong and how I might be able to fix this issue?
