Googled this and found something about downgrade if outlook 2007 to outlook
2003 causing this and solution was to rename mapisvc.inf and next time outlook recreates the profile this file gets recreated. Not sure if this will work but worth a try. Mapisvc.inf found at either c:\windows\system32 or c:\program files\common files\system\msmapi Do update in the status.. "MicheleP" wrote: I'm having the same problem, did you get this resolved? "John D UK" wrote: Brian, I deleted everything under the 'Profiles' key (after exporting it). Attempted to create a new profile but the same error messages appeared. But as before, the profile was created (despite the system telling me it couldn't). I tried to then create a pst data file but the same error messages appeared. Out of curiosity I started Outlook but I got the same error message about no data file present. What should I try next? Thanks, John |

I currently have outlook 2007 which worked fine then all of a sudden an error
code that reads 0x8007002 keeps showing and now I can't send or recieve. "John D UK" wrote: I have installed Outlook 2003 on an XP laptop. Before the installation I uninstalled the trial version of Outlook 2007. When I start Outlook it gives me the following error message: "Unable to open your default e-mail folders...To add a date file...double-click the Mail icon in Control Panel". I try to "Add" a new data file using the Mail applet but I get the following error message: "An unknown error occured, error code: 0x80070002". I've tried to create a new Profile using the Mail applet and I get the following error message: "There was an error locating one of the items needed to complete this operation. It might have been deleted". Does anyone have an explanation and a solution to this problem? Thanks. |
