Outlook 2007 XP SP3 stopped working after Win 7 upgrade

Error: "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.
Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an
association in the Default Programs control panel."
Clean install of Win 7. Reinstalled Office Pro 2007. Outlook opens but will
not allow you to configure (add) folder locations for existing pst files.
Going to control panel does not allow updating or changing email selection to
say Outlook 2007. It remains open w/a default personal folder w/no activity.
Tried reinstalling and repair to no avail. Have downloaded and installed all
(office, outlook etc) updates via windows update...still does not work.
thanks for solution. v/r -g
