Hi. When using Import to install CSV addressbook from previous office
versions error message INVALID SAM ID appears. Internet search brings no answer. Microsoft Office, 2010, Technet all the sites have no answer. How do I import my addressbook in to Outlook 2010 beta? Thanks. |

Since Outlook does not even have an address book, one must wonder what you
are trying to do and how. Why would you change the format of your Outlook data? Why not use a valid method for data transfer? -- Russ Valentine "kn1ghtr1der" wrote in message ... Hi. Hi. I have exported my addressbook in CSV format and imported it in to every
office version so far except 2010. Why does it have the Import facility if it doesn't Import? An internet search about INVALID SAM ID just says to do the same as I have already stated putting me in a loop! Are you saying that i have to create a folder called Contacts before it will allow the import? If thats the case why has it changed after all these versions and years to be so damned awkward, sometimes if it's not broken don't fix it - leave it alone! Do I now have to transfer each individual contact seperately to each field? Why would you do that? That has never been a valid or supported method for
Outlook data transfer. There isn't even an address book in Outlook you could export. Use the valid, supported methods for data transfer that you should have been using all along and that are documented here daily. The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored. Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx -- Russ Valentine "kn1ghtr1der" wrote in message ...
