sort contacts within categories using column headers
I am new to Outlook 2003. I primarily use it only for email and organizing a
contact list with a several categories. I am having trouble sorting the contacts while maintaining the categories. In the previous version, I could just click the column header to sort my contact list and the categories were maintained. Not so with this version. Any help? |

You'll need to go through the View | Arrange View | Current View | Customize Current View dialog to get it arranged the way you want with both grouping and sorting.

I have done that. But I would rather not have to go through all those steps
if possible. Previously I could keep the categories arrangment and simply sort by column header within categories. I sort and resort the list many times a day and it was very easy before we upgraded. Is there no other way? I will always want the contacts to be sorted first by category and then throughout the day, I need to sort the categories by other colums. Any other help? If you need multiple sorts, create multiple views.
