Outlook does not do that even when automatic name checking is selected. All
Outlook requires is a valid address format. So I'll need the rest of the story: how you are entering the address, its format, and what step triggers the Check Names dialog. State whether your installation ever worked, and if so when it stopped. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Hal Kingsley" wrote in message ... 1) Under tools - options - email options - advanced - automatic name checking 2) Pop if that is what you mean 3) When outlook does not find an email address or name in the address book, up pops a message box that says it cannot find the name.
