Importing into the GAL
Is there any way for me to import a list of names, addresses etc directly
into the Gloabal Address List? I can put this file in CSV format if I need to. If so, what are the steps to go about importing such a list into the GAL? Thanks |
Importing into the GAL
In contacts, create a new contact other than the default "Contacts".
Then go to "Tools" and select "Address Book". A window will popup, select "Tools" again and then "Options". In the "Keep personal addresses in" pulldown, select the new contact list you just created. Click "OK" Click on "Tools" again and select "Address Book" again. In the "Show names from pulldown" select "Global Address List" from the pulldown and them the names and/or distribution list that contains the names, you wish to import. If you selected a distribution list, you must select the names from it by double clicking it and then selecting the names from the window that pops up and then selecting "Contacts" in the Add to contacts section. A window will pop up that will say "Do you want to add the selected users?", select "Yes" Another window will pop, select "Save and Close". Now go to the contact list and select all of the items inside there and click on "File" and then "Import and Export" and then select "Export to a file" and then "Next" Select "Comma Seperated Values" from the list and then click "Next" Then click the contact list that the stuff is coming from (seemingly again), and then "Next" Browse to the file and select "Next" and then "OK" That should do it! I just went through that myself and it worked for me. "RayRedSoxFan" wrote: Is there any way for me to import a list of names, addresses etc directly into the Gloabal Address List?
