WYSIWYG in Table View?

Using OL2003 (SP2) in WinXP Pro.

I'm creating a Contacts list in Table View with about 6 columns. The first
is File As, and shows Contact names.

The next columns, user-created, are for various criteria - some are simply
check-mark columns, some numbers, some text. I drag the columns into place
and then go to Print Preview to see what it looks like. Some of the
columns need to be widened so that the column title doesn't cut off (i.e.,
so "Category" doesn't turn into "Cat...").

Other columns need to be shortened because everything is too wide for one
printed page.

So I widen some columns, narrow others, and go back to Print Preview to see
how I'm doing. Now I see I've narrowed a few too much and have to stretch
them out a bit. And it's back to Print Preview to see how I'm doing.

Ooops, I've gone too far. Back to Print Preview.

You get the idea. Is there any way I can change column widths at the same
time as I'm seeing what it's going to look like on the printed page?

(I can do this in Word. In Word's Print Preview, I can edit text by
changing the Magnifier to an I-beam. But in Outlook's Print Preview, I
can't.)

Or is there some other, simpler way to get all the columns to fit on one
page without cutting off their titles?

Thanks in advance,

tw
