Contacts inside Distribution Lists issue
We have a department that sends out emails to 1200 of our brokers. All these
brokers are added as contacts and then added to Distribution Lists based on the Letter of their name (A to Z). We have an issue whereby we update or remove an email address from a contact and when we look at the DL that this broker is in, it still shows the old email address. For example, I remove an email address from Don's Broker Services and when I look at the Brokers-A DL, I still see the email address that I just removed. If I send an email to the DL, the deleted email address still receives the email. |

You can try clicking the Update button on the DL, but unless the DL member was created from the contact in the first place, it will have no effect.
DLs are simply not well equipped to handle list management on that scale. Consider using dedicated list management software (some tools work well with Outlook) or at the very least, mail merge for your mailing chores. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Jason Loster" wrote in message ... These DL's are Personal DL's so is there still an Update DL button?
In our situation, multiple users log into a resource mailbox and it is in this mailbox where these contacts and personal DL's exist. The Update DL button applies only to Personal DLs and has the limitation I described earlieer.
