Can Outlook Address Book be an Excel Data Source
I know that the Outlook Address Book can be used as a database source for
mail merge in Word & Publisher. I would expect that Excel would also have access to that address book via its Data Import External data capability. But, I don't know how to set that up. Any ideas? Thanks, Jim |

Are you aware that there is no Outlook Address Book? It is simply a view of
Outlook's Contacts Folder. You can certainly export your Contacts Folder to an Excel file if you want. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Jim Walsh" wrote in message ... Can Outlook Address Book be an Excel Data Source
Hi Russ,
Yes, I kind of knew that "Address Book" was one view of a Contacts Folder. But, my question is about some interface from Excel into Outlook Contacts folder. Maybe something like ODBC, or OLE DB, etc. Both Word and Publisher seem to have some kind of access in which the user can make selections about what actually gets imported. Do you know of anything like that for Outlook contacts -- EXCEL? Jim "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Are you aware that there is no Outlook Address Book? Only Outlook's Export Wizard, which certainly allows you to customize what
fields are exported to Excel. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Jim Walsh" wrote in message ... Hi Russ, Yes, I kind of knew that "Address Book" was one view of a Contacts Folder.
