Default Uniform Phone Area Code Formatting?

Hello all.

I just started synchronizing my Palm with Outlook. I have historically
entered phone numbers in my Palm in the xxx-xxx-xxxx format. Outlook likes
to turn numbers entered in its interface into (xxx) xxx-xxxx.

Is there a way I can mass format all of my numbers one way or the other
(without having to do them one by one)?

Thanks.
