shared contacts
I have a hosted exchange service, the IT support of which has not been too
helpful. Need to have a shared folder of contacts between three people. Suggestion from IT was to go to the public folders, set it up there, and then everyone has it. Problem is two-fold. First, if it's in the shared folder, then I have to add it to the "favorites" so that it will be offline, which is not a problem. But I need OL to search in that folder as one of the folders it searches when looking up names (email address from name typed in "to" field, quick search at top of the OL interface, etc.), and they say that's not possible. Second, I would like it to be somehow synched to my contacts so that my Mobile 5.0 device and my partners' blackberry devices use the contacts folder to synch with for mobile access. Any help on either/both would be greatly appreciated. -- Boris |

They're wrong. On the Properties dialog for the folder, check the box for Outlook Address Book. Then go into Tools | Address Book, Tools | Options and add it to the search order.
Sync to mobile devices is not an Outlook issue: That's controlled by the capabilities of your sync software. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "BorisS" wrote in message ...
