Merging Outlook Master Categories
We are trying to roll out a master category list to everyone in our firm. We
have a batch file that will do it. However, it overwrites what's already there. Is there a way to merge the master category list we're pushing out with the one they are already using? |

Outlook 2007 is the first version to offer that capability natively. In earlier versions, you'd have to use a script to append to the user's existing registry value.

No, but it's basic registry scripting. I'm sure whatever script tool you're using would have an example of the basics. You already know what the registry key and value are, of course.

The addin Category Manager (signature) can merge the master category list - also between different versions of Outlook. It needs to be installed on the target computer. -- Viele Gruesse / Best regards Michael Bauer - MVP Outlook Organize Outlook email: http://www.vboffice.net/product.html?id=2006063&cmd=detail&lang=en&pub=6 Am Mon, 7 May 2007 13:22:01 -0700 schrieb Frusturat$d: We are trying to roll out a master category list to everyone in our firm.
