Dear outlook guru,

When one of my staff members attempts to open a distribution list in her
contacts folder (containing around 50 contacts) she gets the following
message: "can't open this item. There is not enough memory available on the
Microsoft exchange server computer to perform the operation. Contact your
system administrator."

Does anyone know why this is occurring?

Any number of reasons are possible. Most likely the DL was corrupted by
having been transferred incorrectly. DL's are not robust and become
corrupted very easily. Few users consider them reliable enough to use.
