Saving new contacts

When I try to save a new contactin Office 2003, I get the following mesage: "
Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not
valid." Also get the same message when I try to make a calendar entry. Can
any one help this newbie?

Has Outlook ever worked for you? If so, what changes did you make before it
stopped working? With what type of mail account are you working with and how
did you set up your Outlook profile?
