Assuming a POP email account, copy your pst file to the CD. (Default location on XP is C:\Documents and Settings\{Your Username here}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\) 3. Copy the pst file to the HDD on the laptop and remove any read-only attribute (right-click, properties). Do NOT overwrite any existing pst file 4. Open Outlook and do File-Open-Outlook Data File. Then copy your Conctacts from the old file to the new... HTH |

Gordon. I did fine a file called "Microsoft Outlook Personal Folder (.pst)"
that is a 280 mb file. It appears to be an archive file. Is that the one? -- Guyaurora "Guyaurora" wrote: Hi Gordon: I did EXACTLY as you directed and when I got to the\Microsoft\outlook there was NO .pst file. any suggestions where it might be hiding? You need to enable hidden files in Explorer view. In Explorer go to Tools-Folder Options-View and check the radio button that says "Show hidden files and folders". HTH |

Do a search using your File search function. If using the Windows search function, go to Advanced options and make sure you are looking for hidden and system files. |
