Default Outlook 2007 Contacts - I cannto search Notes (within Contacts)

I hope someone out there might be able to help. I installed Office 2003 then
Office 2007 over a pre-installed Vista Home Premium on my new home PC.
I can search Outlook for title and address fields, but not for the all
important Notes field (within Contacts) where much valuable info is stored. I
can however search for this info on my computer at work which still has
Office 2003 (and on my Palm PDA which syncs between the two). Even using the
advanced find and selecting the Notes field does not work, on the home PC.

I have run the Office Diagnostic, I have rebuilt the Index from within
Windows Vista (which has made searching quicker) but still cannot find any of
the words kept within my Outlook Contacts Notes (NB I am referring to the
Notes field within Outlook, not the Outlook Notes facility which I use less)
It seems as if somehow the index isnt including the Contacts Notes, as words
within this are also not found using the Vista Search.

I have been to the Microsoft site and installed relevant updates, still to
no avail. Does anyone out there have a possible solution? If so I'd be most
grateful to hear!

Known issue. No solution forthcoming that we've been made aware of. Use
Advanced Search instead. It usually works when constructed correctly.

Thank you Russ. After re-indexing again I am now able to find Outlook
Contacts Notes when using Advanced Find. Interestingly I cannot find these
items on a Vista search. Do you think the problem is in Outlook 2007 or in
Vista, and how do you think it will get resolved in the future? -

I wish I knew. We reported these issues months ago and have heard nothing
back. I don't know if they will be addressed in SP1 or not. Re-indexing
actually fixes a lot of search problems. I would not expect a Vista search
to turn up an entry in a PST file unless that search was done within
Outlook.

Thanks again Russ. My Vista search will pull up Outlook Contacts when I
search for names addresses etc but not within the notes field, so it would
seem that Outlook 2007 is somehow not making notes information available for
either Outlook Instant Search or Vista searches. I'm sure you'll get a lot
more enquiries like this, thank you for dealing with mine. If there is a fix
in future, how is the best way to hear about it?
