Hi - I am using Outlook 2007. It transferred my contacts successfully from
2003. However now when I search a contact that I know is there I get "Outlook cannot find the requested contact". When I select Tools, Address Book no options appear for me to choose "Contacts" as the Address Book. I confirmed that the .pst file option was checked and restarted Outlook and restarted the computer, but am still having problems. I would appreciate any help at all. I normally use this feature a lot. Thanks. Lorrie |

Is the Outlook Address Book service defined in your mail profile? Did you start with a new mail profile? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Thank you Brian,
How do I find out if the service is defined in my mail profile. All of my mail, calendar etc. is accessible. Thanks, Lorrie "Brian Tillman" wrote: Lorrie wrote: Hi - I am using Outlook 2007. In Control Panel, run the Mail applet, click E-mail Accounts, select the Address Book tab (at the far right) and look. If you see "Outlook ADdress Book", it's there. Next, right-click your Contacts folder and choose Properties. Select the Outlook Address Book tab and eamine the box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book". Is it checked? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Brian,
Thanks again for your prompt response. I followed your instructions. The only thing that strays from what should happen is that the check box for "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" is not checked - it's grayed out. Thankfully, calendar and e-mail search works well. Lorrie "Brian Tillman" wrote: Lorrie wrote: How do I find out if the service is defined in my mail profile. Alas, for Outlook 2007, you must create a new mail profile in order to repair the Outlook Address Book service and allow you to check that box.
