Default Edit multiple phone numbers

We have imported some 2,500 Contacts in to Outlook 2003. We need to edit the
country codes for almost all of them as they are in the 001 617 XXX XXXX
format instead or +1 617 XXX XXXX.

How can we edit multiple phone numbers simultaneously to save having to edit
each individual phone number one by one?

Any and all help very gratefully received.

Why not edit into the correct format before importing? Put the contacts into
an Excel spreadsheet for example, do a mass edit changing "00" to "+", and
re-import.

We would have done that but they came out of Lotus Notes so it wasn't
possible. I never knew getting info out of Notes and in to Outlook was such a
headache!
